What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientifically validated approach to understanding and improving behavior. ABA focuses on how behaviors change, how learning occurs, and how these principles can enhance skills and reduce challenging behaviors.

Behavior analysts observe and assess a child’s strengths and areas for growth by examining various factors such as communication skills, social interactions, and daily living abilities. They identify key concepts that shape ABA therapy, including:

Positive Reinforcement: Encouraging desired behaviors by rewarding them.

Task Analysis: Breaking down complex tasks into smaller, teachable steps.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Regularly collecting and analyzing progress data to adjust strategies.

Generalization: Ensuring learned skills apply across different settings and contexts.

These foundational concepts allow therapists to create targeted and effective treatment plans tailored to each child’s unique needs.

How ABA Works

What Parents Can Expect

Parental involvement is a cornerstone of successful ABA therapy. At Keystone ABA, we recognize that parents play a critical role in their child’s development. By working closely with families, we ensure that our therapy plans align with the unique needs and goals of each child, while also empowering parents with tools and strategies to support progress beyond therapy sessions.

We prioritize parental involvement as an essential component of therapy success. Parents can expect a comprehensive and collaborative approach, beginning with regular updates and progress reviews. These include detailed session summaries, data-driven insights that track their child’s development, and actionable recommendations during scheduled check-ins. We ensure transparency every step of the way, empowering families with the knowledge and tools needed to actively support their child’s growth. Our team also provides personalized guidance on implementing strategies at home, fostering consistency and reinforcing progress across all aspects of the child’s life.
